Frequently asked questions
What is cosmetic tattooing?
Cosmetic tattooing, also referred to as semi-permanent makeup or micropigmentation, is the process of implanting colour pigment beneath the surface of the skin by means of tiny, sterile, disposable needles to produce the appearance of hair strokes, makeup, or to enhance the natural features of the face.
Does cosmetic tattooing hurt?
A highly effective topical anesthetic is used before and during the procedure to ensure comfort. Pain tolerance varies by individual, and every effort is made to keep you comfortable throughout. Sensitivity may be increased during your menstrual cycle, for frequent smokers, or for clients with fibromyalgia, as numbing effects may not last as long.
How long does cosmetic tattooing last?
Cosmetic tattoo treatments are semi-permanent and will fade over time, typically requiring a refresh every 1–2 years. Longevity varies based on pigment color, skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and chemical treatments. Results cannot be guaranteed, as pigment retention differs for each client. A minimum of two sessions is required, with one touch-up included and scheduled no sooner than one month after the initial treatment.
Is the studio equipment safe?
Absolutely! We pride ourselves on having an immaculate and sterile studio space. We only use single use, disposable needles and supplies. This means that each set-up for each new client is discarded safely afterwards. Each of our stations are thoroughly disinfected before opening and after each procedure throughout the day.
How will I look Immediately after?
What is the healing process?
Our semi-permanent makeup will appear darker for the first 1-3 days. This will gradually lighten during the complete healing process. Redness and swelling is minimal.
Things to Be Cautious About
After Brow Treatment?
After your brow treatment, avoid getting the area wet for the first 24 hours and do not touch, scratch, or pick at the brows during healing. Refrain from heavy sweating, swimming, saunas, and steam rooms for at least 7 days, and avoid sun exposure, tanning, and UV. Do not apply makeup, skincare products, retinol, acids, exfoliants, or chemical treatments on the brow area until fully healed. Mild scabbing, flaking, and temporary color changes are normal, and following proper aftercare is essential for optimal results.
